The Story of Brickstickershop

Once upon a time, a (not so) young Mario dug up his Sopwith Camel. Undoing his priced LEGO® of the thick layer of dust that accumulated on it’s bricks, Mario took a good look at (what was left of) the stickers. ‘Well, dust ‘me old bricks! There’s more left of me hair than of them stickers!’ (POV: Mario Doesn’t have a lot of hair, which says a lot about the stickers.)

Mario went on a quest, searching the land, skies, seas and world wide web for new stickers. Unfortunately he couldn’t find what he was looking for. A frustrated Mario had a glorious epiphany: ‘I’ll do it meself!’

And thus, on a semi-cold and damp Thursday morning, in April 2016, with a lot of coffee (no, I’m serious, a lot of coffee), Brickstickershop was born.

The stickers

The vinyl used for the creation of the stickers is a calendered polymer printfoil. The glue used is incredibly strong, yet flexible and leaves no residu when removed. This vinyl has a guaranteed life expentency of 7 years... outdoors. Well, we ain't keeping our bricks outside are we? Inside they will last much longer. The vinyl is made of quite a flexible material, making it perfect for flat surfaces, or slightly curved surfaces. The flexibility also guarantees the stickers won't rip, or brittle.

We currently use 5 types of vinyl:
- White backing

- Transparent backing

- Holografic backing

- Silver backing

- Mirror backing

All of our stickers are pre-cut by our printer.

The colours

The advanced printer we use is capable of printing a very wide colour-spectrum. This comes with the capability to manually mix CMYK inks and achieve spot-colours that perfectly match the original colours as used by LEGO®©.

A lot of effort went into recreating these colours by hand. Some of these colours are available as printer a5 sheets to create your own custom stickers with. Some of the more 'rare' colours, we simply do not have bricks for, and are therefore not available (yet).
